Terms of Use
The simple ground rules for using Halftime Buddy.
Last updated: October 4, 2026
These terms cover your use of the Halftime Buddy app and this website. By using Halftime Buddy, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. Who can use Halftime Buddy
A family account must be created and managed by a parent or legal guardian who is an adult. You're responsible for the devices you pair and for the people you invite as guardians or caregivers.
2. What Halftime Buddy is (and isn't)
Halftime Buddy helps families make screen-time transitions more predictable, with heads-ups, calm breaks, learning activities, and bedtime routines. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, or replace care, therapy, or professional advice. It also isn't a safety or monitoring service: notifications, commands, and location updates depend on iOS, network conditions, and device settings, and may be delayed or not delivered.
3. Your account
Keep your sign-in details secure and your parent controls locked. Tell us at [email protected] if you think your account has been misused.
4. Memberships and billing
- Some features require a Halftime Buddy family membership, offered monthly or yearly as an auto-renewing subscription through Apple.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in your Apple Account subscription settings.
- If a free trial is offered, any unused portion ends when you purchase a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
- One membership covers the families you own, their paired devices, and the guardians you invite.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use Halftime Buddy to monitor anyone without proper authority, to harass anyone, or to interfere with the service. Optional features like location sharing should only be used for devices you're responsible for.
6. Optional robot chat
If a parent turns on robot chat, Halftime's replies are generated automatically and may occasionally be imperfect. Parents decide whether to enable it and can turn it off at any time.
7. Changes and availability
We may update or change features over time. We'll update these terms when needed and change the date above.
8. Disclaimers and liability
Halftime Buddy is provided “as is.” To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Halftime Buddy in the 12 months before the claim.
9. Apple
These terms are between you and Kyle Ramsey, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, but Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms for App Store purposes.
